Kerrie Hershey
Hershey describes herself as a traditional quilter, one who likes traditional patterns, and uses a variety of colors to achieve the traditional look. Scrappy quilts, composed of many assorted fabrics, are another of her favorite styles. Although she chooses an old-fashioned look for her quilts, Hershey often creates them with modern methods by speed-cutting the fabric with a rotary cutter and assembling the quilts by machine. She does long-arm machine quilting and hand-quilting for her projects. One of her quilts earned the “Best Machine Workmanship: Traditional” award at the 2003 Pacific International Quilt Show in Santa Clara. She has also published two patterns with Quiltsmart
This is a judged open-entry quilt show of 100+ quilts. There will be vendors, a silent auction, raffle baskets, a Country Store, demonstrations, and door prizes. Our Opportunity Quilt will find a home at the closing of the show. Our featured quilter is Kerrie Hershey, who likes traditional patterns, but uses modern methods.
